                                                                                   Fayre for Women

We are a self-educating group of mostly retired women and we plan our own programme of classes and events. We invite speakers, have talks given by members, and also visit interesting places. We support each other and share useful information.

                                                                                DRB Women's History Group

Women have made a major contribution to Scottish history
and their stories are still largely hidden. This women’s history research group sheds light on hidden heroines of the past by recording them for future generations.

Share your knowledge and learn in a supportive and co-operative atmosphere.

Democracy Group                 

The Democracy Group aims to develop democratic participation through collaborative investigation and action. Our sessions will create a space for the development of understanding links between ideology, philosophy and psychology through discussion and dialogue.

                                                                                       THE ARTS

                                                                                       AYE, WRITE !

Have you been writing away on your own for a while or do you just need a bit of focus and some stimulus to get started? This project offers you the chance to write, share and develop through poems, stories and monologues, as well as practical ways to get your words out to the public. No experience is necessary. This project is guided by professional writer and tutor Billy Cornwall. Guest writers are planned.

                                                            GAELIC SONG: Cèilidh nan Amhráin

This project brings together
Gaelic song from Scotland and Ireland in an informal Ceilidh setting. Learning the songs phonetically and singing together is a great way into the language and a good night out.

                                                                                    LITERACIES

                                                        GLORY AND DISMAY: The Story of Scottish Football

Share your football stories and memories. Build your writing skills and improve your communication skills through the game you love and meet other fans. These courses will include guest speakers, recording methods (e.g. tapes, video, DVDs) and 5-a-side games. 12-week course. There is always a big celebration and presentation of certificates at the end of each course.
